Our people

Capacity Building for Enterprise has a team from a diverse cultural, educational and employment background. There are three sections, consulting, administration and finance. The consulting section is the largest and comprises of  lead consultants, junior consultants and apprentice consultants. The lead consultants join the team from Europe and work with CBE for a maximum of three months to mentor local consultants and offer consulting services to firms. The junior consultants have worked for more than a year and have a Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials. The apprentices are the new recruits.

PROGRAM MANAGER
Kondwani Banda


A holder of a Bachelors Degree in Arts and a Certificate in Marketing, Kondwani has worked in both FMCG as well as NGO sector in areas of project management and implementation; and social marketing.  Built on experience in project management, customer service delivery and negotiating skills, he has strong passion in business planning and implementation process especially in the SME sector.    A team player with high levels of leadership skills, Kondwani has over six years of managerial experience.  He is currently the Program Manager for CBE.

JUNIOR CONSULTANTS

Tione Kaonga


Tione has extensive experience in finance, accounting and auditing for both non profit and profit making organisations. Multidisciplinary skills in developmental project management and socio economic research. Highly skilled at Microsoft excel, word and outlook, SPSS, Sage Line 50 and A/S2 Auditsystem. Self- motivated person with good interpersonal, analytical, team-work, communication, leadership and supervisory skills. A chartered accountant (ACCA) and graduate in Agricultural Economics and Diploma in Accounting. A Business Consultant in marketing, finance, strategic and business planning and development, feasibility studies, budget analysis etc.



Mwabi Faith Phiri

Mwabi has interests in strategic planning, and operations management.  Varied experience in accounting, business management, and data collection and analysis from Rice Milling Company, Malawi National Statistical Office and Kingfisher Associates Ltd. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Science and is currently studying the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Operational Level. 

APPRENTICE CONSULTANTS

Frank Mkumba

Frank has worked with both profit and not-for profit organisations. He has played leading roles in project evaluation and project needs assessment exercises. He has also experience in market research, training development and facilitation, and data analysis.  His areas of special interest are social and market research, strategic management and planning, and community development. Frank holds Bachelors of Social Science Degree and currently studying with Chartered Institute of Marketing.



Rejoice Chisi


Self motivated and independent decision maker with high integrity, excellent interpersonal skills, enjoys team work to make a difference and well developed people skills, culturally sensitive and attentive to detail. Over 5 years working experience. She worked as an officer and Manager in a reputable Microfinance organisation PRIDE Malawi Limited and have vast experience in working with SME’S especially client mobilisation, loan appraisals and approvals and cash flow analysis. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Business studies. During her leisure time she likes reading novels and interacting with friends. Invite her to a volleyball match she will be happy.

Oganive Chingakule


Oganive is an easy going person that is interested in life and all it has to offer and likes swimming, socializing, dancing and traveling. She likes to meet new people and finding out more about what makes them tick. She has a bachelors in business studies and an MBA in international business. She has had over 5 years experience working with FMCGs and lecturing business subjects at the University of Malawi. Her professional topics of interest are change management, risk management and human resources.

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

Ernest Luhanga

Ernest is the Programme Assistant and his core responsibility in CBE Project is to Manage and report project finances. Before joining CBE in October, 2010, Ernest worked with Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) as Finance Assistant for three years. He has also worked with Link Community Development (LCD) an International NGO, as Finance & Admin Officer for two years. The five years he has worked in the Finance and Admin support sectors, he has gained a lot of skills as far as managing project finances is concerned. He holds a Diploma in Accounting and a Certificate of Part 2 ACCA Professional. His  ambition is to study Finance and Investment Analysis.



Arthur Mulirenji

Arthur is an all rounder.  He is the one who makes sure that all staff are never late for their clients meetings.  He drives the program van with ease and makes sure the UK consultants are living comfortably at their house.  He takes care of the consultants house, drives staff around and run other errands around the office.

LEAD CONSULTANTS



Julie Balch



Julie is an international hospitality, tourism and food manufacturing specialist who assists the hotel, catering and hospitality industry as well as food and drink manufacturing organisations throughout Europe and also Caribbean, India, Turkey and Africa. She assists organisations improve sales, profitability, operational standards, quality, leadership and food safety standards. She has over 30 years experience in the hospitality and tourism and food and drink industries, a BSC in Hotel Management, Diploma in Food Safety and Health and Safety, MBA and Teaching and Training Diploma.


Brian Dannatt

Brian’s career has spanned many industry sectors, from HM Forces, through many years’ experience in industry (logistics, manufacturing, service, education, travel and financial services). Brian has a proven track record of facilitating learning and development in a wide range of business areas. Brian holds a Master’s degree in Professional Training & Development a BSc in psychology and a number of qualifications in management and coaching.  He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management and a member of the Institute of Consulting.
